To celebrate with young and old

To try and keep a happy mood

In spite of people being rude

The stress of going to the mall

To get gifts for one and all

Just to find you need one more

So off you go back to the store

The potlucks everywhere

People feel the need to share

Sometimes they turn out good

And other times it’s crappy food

The holidays become too much

They make you feel so out of touch

You only hope they end real soon

And try to find a quiet room

The need to go into your happy place

When friends and family you must face

But after all is said and done

You might just find you had some fun
